Garage Floor Epoxy Coatings Massachusetts

Prior to the introduction of Versatile Building Products’ (VBP) direct to concrete epoxy #4195 back in the late 1990s, installing a new garage floor was an expensive, challenging task—one that involved heavy equipment and no fewer than four trips on four different days to complete the work. That means no shot-blaster is needed to prepare the floor, and installing the epoxy concrete coating is as simple as rolling it on and allowing it to wick into the concrete. In short, you get a primer and a base coat in one application—as well as a bond that’s three times stronger than standard epoxy. Installers also can take advantage of an accelerator that they can add into the concrete floor epoxy and, within two to three hours, they’ll have a professional, granite-looking floor completed.

It’s a process that has revolutionized the concrete coating industry, allowing installers to minimize time spent on jobs as well as the potential for call-backs due to bubbling or other problems—which are few and far between for those who use 4195. In fact, in 2010, VBP began offering a lifetime warranty on the product, because in all the millions of square feet of concrete epoxy installed using 4195, there have been only four failures. Those were due to moisture vapor emissions (MVEs) that exceeded the product’s MVE limits: It’s guaranteed to withstand up to 8 pounds of MVE, compared to 3 pounds for standard epoxy.
